Chimbu Governor’s Cup set

PREPARATIONS are underway to stage the Chimbu Governor’s Cup.
At the completion of the tournament in Kundiawa, winning teams will share a total of K150,000 in prize money, according to coordinator Nixon Diunde.
He said the tournament will begin on Nov 15 at the Dixons Field.
Diunde said 24 teams from all over Chimbu had registered for the tournament. He said six female sides, including Goroka’s Genoka Pride, would be competing in the tournament.
“I thank Governor Michael Dua for the financial support to keep youths busy, as sports are one very powerful way to keep them out of trouble and negative activities like drugs, alcohol, and law and order problems,” Diunde said.
