ALL 10 Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League (NSL) clubs can now plan ahead following last week’s release of the season draw, according to an official.
The country’s premier football competition resumes on Saturday following a recess during the Christmas period.
NSL northern coordinator Stanley Khanna said: “Now that the season draw is out, franchises will be in a better position to plan ahead.”
He said the draw was done up using the Comet system, which maintained transparency.
Khanna said regulative approaches had been imposed on franchises in compliance with Fifa standards.
He said simple things like turning up two hours before game time and getting accustomed to dressing rooms as well as on and off field relationships with the public, were in place.
Khanna said franchises engaging in designated warm-up areas and photo shoots must happen at the right time and place as advised accordingly.
“Starting matches on time is our greatest failure and will only improve if teams and officials know what they are doing, where they are and when they are supposed to engage,” he said.
“It will take a much shorter period for the improvements to settle in and it starts with the franchises and officials before the rest of the soccer community joins.
“Controlling supporters has been a long shot.
“The only reason the supporters are there is because there is a game. So the right thing to do is for the franchises and officials to lead by example.”
