Renovation of centre makes training easier

POLICE officers training in Lae will now be improved after the renovation of its training centre, regional training officer Chief Inspector Paul Bai says.
He said police could not run a number of in-house training because the building was still under renovation.
“Now that it is nearing completion, there will be a number of trainings conducted for officers to up-skilled them in various disciplines,” Bai said.
The building was renovated through the partnership programme between Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary and the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
Assistant Commissioner of Police and Northern Commander Peter Guinness said the partnership with the AFP had helped in many ways.
“We have to continue with this partnership to see greater changes,” he said.
