Reports not public: MP

IALIBU-Pangia MP Peter O’Neill says the Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the K3 billion Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) loan has yet to write its report but Prime Minister James Marape had concluded its outcome.
O’Neill was responding to a statement by Marape on Monday, saying the inquiry into the K3 billion UBS loan would not be a waste of time and money.
With the inquiry still in progress, O’Neill was concerned how Marape had access to the information.
“How is he (Marape) privy to these reports when they are not yet made public,” O’Neill said.
“He (Marape) has no respect for the inquiry he had initiated, and therefore, the integrity and independence of the commissioners and credible professionals who are involved in the COI have been brought into question.”
