Resellers welfare catered through project

THE welfare of resellers and consumers of South Pacific Brewery products are being catered for through the settlement tavern project initiative, according to corporate relations manager John Nilkare.
Nilkare said the nationwide initiative would have resellers partnering with SP Brewery for the setting up of taverns and container stores.
“Right now we have a target of setting up about 20 around the country. So far we have set up three – two in NCD and one in Central,” he said.
“We plan to open up a couple more in Morobe along the Highlands and of course NGI.
“With the container stores, we have a plan of rolling out 100 this year and so far we are on track with about 70 already in the country.”
Nilkare said there had also been an increase in sales for tavern owners in initial set-ups.
“These taverns are operating well beyond the owners’ expectations,” Nilkare said. “They are saying that their sales volume has doubled with something like 10 cartons a week to 20 cartons a week.
“The key thing is that they are seeing more people coming into the taverns having a beer and being more responsible about it because they can see that the tavern owner invested money into making the place pleasant so people have a sense of appreciation.”
That is the main thing for the tavern owners and for SP.
