Residents can use platform to pay for services

RESIDENTS in the National Capital District (NCD) can now use the Bank South Pacific Financial Group Ltd (BSP) mobile banking services to pay for different services.
This follows the National Capital District Commission (NCDC) registering with BSP as a mobile banking merchant to offer digital mobile payment for NCDC Services in Port Moresby.
City manager Bernard Kipit said becoming a mobile merchant on the BSP mobile banking service would enable alternative payments options for residents to pay for municipal services using their mobile phone 24/7 for services.
“Services include NCDC land tax, garbage rates, dump fees, burial fees and market vendor fees, in an efficient, accountable and faster process,” he said.
“Significantly, this accomplishment provides all our customers mobile payments without needing to come to our office which effectively means they can remain up to date on their bills, and avoid penalties for late fees.
