Respect of the law

Letters

I AM a Papua New Guinean from a coastal province but born and bred in the Southern Highlands during the colonial era.
Our grandparents in those days respected the law.
They respected the white patrol officer and the lone police constable dressed in Zulu uniform and armed only with a .303 rifle.
The burning down of properties by SHP people last week was a shame.
My point is, please, we are Papua New Guineans and we assisted in the development of your province, so why are you treating police officers, public servants, private company employees with cruelty, violence and disrespect when they are only carrying out their duties in your province?
