Restart of UPNG year hailed

Letters

THE news of plans to resume classes at the University of Papua New Guinea is most welcome. What triggered is anyone’s guess but the students have to get back and resume studies as if nothing has happened to save their academic year and future. There shouldn’t be any “ifs” and “buts” as the Government of the day has intervened to reverse the the UPNG council’s decision to terminate the 2016 academic year. I would like to thank and welcome the new Minister for Higher Education Francis Marus who is spearheading plans to resume classes at UPNG. It is now up to the stakeholders, parents, guardians and leaders to ensure the students return on time and recommence the academic year.
