Besta Cup is time to showcase our new soccer talent

Letters

IT is once again time for one of the most important events on the Papua New Guinea Football Association’s calender – the Besta Football Championships, which will be played in all regions of the country.
This tournament will unearth and expose new talents of footballers. PNG having made a huge improvement in this year’s OFC Nations Cup and only losing to New Zealand in the grand final has got a lot to offer in terms of exposure of raw talent.
There is no doubt that interest in game around football playing centres have increased.
I read with particular interest names of centres and teams that will be taking part in Momase Regional Besta Cup in Madang.
Two names that were missing were former Momase champions Boana and Situm.
These two Nawaeb district  teams in Morobe province have been the most successful teams with Bulolo for a long time and we the supporters were surprised and shocked that they will not be making it to Madang.
The PNGFA needs to ensure that champion teams like Boana and Situm are given every opportunity to participate in the tournament.
