Restore Lae city’s botanical gardens

 THE news story about Lae Botanical Garden getting a major facelift brought some joy to Lae residents after a long period of time of negligence. 

I may have spent half of my working career in Port. Moresby however Lae is where I set my foot on first before I left for Port Moresby to join the military. The first place I decided to see was the beautiful Lae Botanical Garden. I came back to Lae in 2005 and what I saw is not what it used to be 35 years ago. I

’d like to thank Swire’s Shipping Agency for their courage’s effort in providing funding’s to upgrade the botanical garden which was once a tourist attraction and one of the best in the Pacific. 

I also would like to thank those who who responded to my letter to do a wash down on the deteriorating state of DC3 aircraft once used by PNGDF from 1975 to 1990 which is our military icon and must be preserved
