Retirement age

CAN the Public Service and Police ministers amend the Public Services Act to allow public servants to remain in the public services to reach 65 years of age?
Earlier this year, the National Court granted orders that ages of public servants to be 60 years.
This is a slap in the face of current public servants who are at the ages of 50-60 years now.
If you look at nearly 75 per cent of current public servants are 50-60 years.
They are more energetic and wisdom filled.
They have the many years of experiences.
They make this country move in maintaining the laws, systems, etc.
In the white man’s world, people get promoted to higher positions when reaching the ages of 60 or over.
Here in PNG you want to remove hard working people too early and put them on the streets.
Police Minister, you will know that nearly 80 per cent of the Divisional Commanders, Assistant Commissioners are all in the ages of 58-60 years now.
What are you going to do with these hard working policemen and women?
When and how are you going to replace these hard working cops?
You want to put these people in the streets too early.
This is madness.
People working in PNG in all the public service have reached 50-60 years. What is the PEA doing about this issue?
I am a senior public servant too and the national court decision has just put me off.
I am wisdom filled.
Young people need time to get trained, and fit into the systems.
This country will be torn apart if all working class retire and leave the country and the systems to our young guys.
Believe me.
All the systems will be raped and torn apart.
