THE Hardware Haus Central Province Premier League kicks off its competition at the Murray Barracks Oval today.
The competition is expected to feature raw talent in the A-grade and Under-20s.
League president Jack Kedea said eight teams — Hiri West, Koiari, Amazon Bay, Aroma Coast, Hiri East, Kairuku, Rigo and Goilala — would battle it out for the Cup.
Kedea said all the clubs should comply with the team affiliation and player registration.
He said club managements were aware of this and should make every effort to settle their dues without delay. “Please settle your dues to ensure that the competition runs smoothly,” Kedea told the clubs.
“This is a pathway for players as the league is a feeder competition to the Central Dabaris in the Digicel Cup.
“This is the competition that scouts of the Central franchise attend to identify talent.”
The main encounter between Rigo and Goilala is expected to be a tough challenge with both sides looking to field experienced campaigners.
The earlier fixtures see Hiri West taking on Koiari (1pm), Amazon Bay doing battle with Aroma Coast (2pm) and Hiri East locking horns with Kairuku (3pm).
