THE SP Hunters have made a few changes to their line-up with Tyler Han returning to fullback and Judah Rimbu switching to halfback for tomorrow’s clash with Wynnum Manly (3pm kick-off).
Playmaker Jamie Mavoko was not named in the side while forward Emmanuel Waine has been named at centre for the round-14 Hostplus Cup fixture at BMD Kougari Oval.
Coach Matthew Church told The National yesterday that his men were doing their best in every game and that they would continue to compete in the remaining seven games of the season.
“We are always striving to win games regardless of our position on the ladder,” he said.
“This week provides us with an opportunity to improve our performance and start to finish the year strongly.
“There are no injury concerns from last week and we are looking forward to the game against Wynnum.”
Church said his men were still learning the systems that the South Pacific Brewery-sponsored club had put in place.
“Sticking to our systems and processes is crucial,” the former Sunshine Coast Falcons coach said.
Church said forward Ila Alu had shown improvement in the last two games after returning from a shoulder injury which he had sustained during the pre-season.
“Ila was okay without being great,” he said.
“That was to be expected on his return. He will bring energy and leadership to the team, so this will improve with his game time.”
Meanwhile, Papua New Guinea international Epel Kapinias has been named on the bench for Wynnum Manly.
