Road funding

Letters

THE response by Works Minister Michael Nali in regards to the K10 million funding to develop roads in Wewak is lame and without sound facts.
The question was raised clearly and precisely by East Sepik Governor Allan Bird in Parliament as to how the money allocated was spent.
Nali responded that almost K3 million from the fund was used in a major wash-out and emergency slip repair work along the Coastal Sepik Highway.
He went on to highlight that to avoid the money being withdrawn by the Finance Department, his department had already paid contractors working on Wewak roads.
The question is: How much has been spent?
What money is put into actual work and construction?
Where is the other K7 million?
