Road plays vital role

Letters

THE letter “Road paves away for other services” in the The National published on Wednesday (August 12) is a fact that is affecting many people in remote areas.
In my electorate Kompiam-Ambum, Enga, there is lack of essential services such as aid-post, schools, road and others. People are suffering.
There is no bus service where people can travel in comfort.
Many wake up early because they do not want to miss the first PMV truck that makes a trip for the day.
If they miss the PMV truck, they miss the opportunity of going to town or elsewhere.
It is challenging to live in such condition. The bus fee is K10 and that adds an extra burden to the poor people living in my electorate, even though it is a short distance.
This is happening in my electorate.
Even a pregnant woman gives birth on the way to the hospital in this rough road condition.
I feel for my people.
With reference to these issues, road is considered to be one of the most essential services that our MP Sir John Thomas Pundari, can provide.
He has been MP for almost 25 years and nothing has happened in my electorate.
We don’t have a proper road, aid post and lack many other services.
Road is a vital and should be considered first before other services.
I am sure there are others in other electorates, districts and provinces suffering too.
There should to be a proper road if all other services are to fall in line.
Just a thought.
