Robbers take off with K30,000

TWELVE armed men held up a Doa Rubber Plantation shop in Central and stole K30,000 and a vehicle on Monday, Central police commander Chief Supt Jahannes Yapi says.
“The incident happened around 1am in the morning on Repentance Day when the suspects attacked the security guard, tied him up and broke into the shop taking money, food items and a vehicle belong to the company,” he said.
Yapi told The National that the shop was located at the gateway to the rubber plantation and the estate.
He said one man had been arrested and the stolen vehicle recovered on the same day at Doa while police were searching for the accomplices with information taken from the captured suspect.
He said the Doa road was becoming a centre for robberies because bad road conditions slowed down vehicles.
