Robbing own folks

I read with interest about the so-called “commission gang” (The National, Dec 2) at the Department of Finance and Treasury.
Why are these people so hell-bent on cheating their own countrymen and women?
Are they doing that for personal reasons or because someone has done it, they too should give it a go?
Please yupela kisim inap pay ya, hamas ken yupela laikim?
Think of the struggling subsistence farmers.
You are rich but yet you continue to rob from the poor.
What a shame!
