POPULAR Tolai rock singer Leonard Kania is scheduled to perform at Jiwaka’s first cultural show from August 5-7.
Show organiser Upper Kon Association president Aaron Gunbi said Kania and other artists such Amon Serum, brother of Morobe’s favourite artist Lister Serum, and the famous Rex band from Finschhafen would be part of the show.
Gunbi said they were expecting more than 6000 people from neighbouring Chimbu, Western Highlands and Madang.
He said people in Hela were excited about the show and four groups had registered.
Gunbi said the presence of PNG’s popular artists who were composing new songs for the event would be a major attraction.
“I look forward to playing and supporting upcoming musicians and I’m also expecting many of my Highlands fans to attend,” Kania told The National.
He said he would be playing a new song titled Jiwaka Angel besides Rayleen, Miss You Babe, Red Rose, OK5 and some of his other popular numbers.
Gunbi said it was a good opportunity for the people to be exposed to services provided by different businesses.
Businesses are invited to purchase booths and stalls to display their services and products. Gunbi can be contacted on 70350819 or email [email protected].
