Root out corruption

Letters

I BRING to light the secret of most Government departments’ corrupt deals that they are accustomed for ages.
Some people in the Government have been trying so hard to ensure the Whistle Blowers Act wasn’t passed.
I have been observing a Government office in Waigani.
This office is not following the proper process of recruitment.
It is recruiting people with no proper qualifications for positions that were not advertised.
The office was supposed to recruit 601 people for their offices around the country but preferences were seen given to the wantoks and people with money.
I can identify the senior staff that are involved in this unethical practice.
I am sure the same is happening in other Government offices.
It is time we move away from such practices and start doing things right.
There is no harm in doing what’s right and just.
I call on the Government to make sure the Whistle Blowers Act and the Independent Commission Against Corruption are working effectively to root out corruption.
There are a lot of qualified university graduates out there who are seeking employment, please recruit them.
