THE Rigo Rugby League round 14 matches is crucial for all the 15 teams competing this season.

Tomorrow at the Kwikila Oval, Varovarona face a determined Tubulota Eels in the main fixture.

With no big names, these rural untapped talents, would be fortunate to represent Rigo in the upcoming Southern Zone Regonal trials later this month.

“Two selected teams are undergoing intensive training for the Southern Zone trials” president Freddy Silona said.

Silona said preparation was on target and the communities in Rigo are looking forward for the Southern meet.

He said only Popondetta had enquired for accommodation for the three days event and appealed to other centres to contact him on 7326 4205 to avoid inconvenience.

It is anticipated that hosts Rigo, Popondetta, hot favourites Port Moresby, Suburban, Aroma Coast, Marshall Lagoon,  Gabagaba, Barakau, Tubusereia, Gaire, Hall Sounds (Kairuku), Porebada, Borea, Poreporena, Balimo, Kerema, Alotau, Kiunga/ Tabubil and Goilala to battle out for the major honours.

Rigo League Fixtures: Junior Kumuls vs Girabu Panthers, Imuty Cowboys vs Gomore Eagles, Gunugau Bulldogs vs Saroa Raiders, Bigai Brothers vs Vabulava Warriors, Vula’a vs Bore Tigers, Giroea Roosters vs K Gouna. B grade: Junior Kumuls vs Panthers, Cowboys vs Eagles and Bulldogs vs Raiders.
