Safety issues at airport fixed: Airline

Link PNG Ltd, a subsidiary of Air Niugini, says safety concern regarding loose gravel on the runway at Kavieng airport in New Ireland, has now been resolved by the airport operator.
“The airline is satisfied with the level of response by the National Airports Corporation and therefore will be resuming services to Kavieng effective (Wednesday),” Link PNG said in a statement.
“The airline’s flight to Kavieng on Monday was cancelled while awaiting the issue to be resolved.
“Passengers holding onto confirmed tickets are required to reconfirm their travel dates at the nearest Air Niugini sales office or travel agent.
“Link PNG regrets the inconvenience caused, however the safety of our passengers and crew is of paramount importance.”
