Salamaua dart association heads to finals

BUAKAP Dart Association in Salamaua, Huon Gulf, is staging its finals tomorrow before it hosts its Christmas tournament.
Association president Andy Maie told The National that the competition had been running since the Independence celebrations in September.
“Immediately after the finals of the main competition, we will start our Christmas dart tournament,” he said.
“We have a team each from Asini and Boathouse (nearby villages), and six from Buakap village.
“The competition is played using the standard dart rules and using Lae Dart Association’s playing format.
“We are expecting many dart teams from Lae and other nearby villagers to join the Buakap teams for the tournament.
“I am inviting any interested teams that wish to take part in the Christmas tournament to contact me on 70103356 or coordinator Emuka Yanac on 74534502 to register.
“We are also inviting any corporate companies, individuals and business houses that wish to sponsor the tournament.”
Maie said trophies would be awarded to the highest scorer, highest check-out, and highest men’s and women’s starts.
