GULF Isou development will face an uphill battle against ladder-leading Port Moresby Vipers Academy in the Southern Super League National Gaming Control Board Cup at Moresby South Stadium tomorrow.
Both teams are in good form with Vipers recording eight wins and one draw while sixth-placed Isou have bagged three victories and a draw since round seven.
Isou must continue their momentum in attack and tighten their defence if they are to overcome a young Vipers side who are dominating the second-tier rugby league competition in its inaugural season.
Considered the team to watch, Vipers will look to retain pole spot with a win over Isou at the home of Moresby South Blacks.
On the other hand, a win for Isou would boost their premiership credentials against competition heavyweights Blacks, Laumas, Port Moresby Suburban Ducks and Central Dabaris Development.
Isou will look to rebound with a win after fighting back to force an 18-18 draw with Buria Reds on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Eda Bulldogs will face Koiari Nagavas in what is expected to be an even tussle.
Bulldogs will look to sink Nagavas and triumph over Motu-Koita Lagatois in their final match to sneak into the top-six at the expense of Isou.
In the other encounters, Laumas will meet Dabaris, Reds will play Western Flames, Lagatois will battle Raiders and Ducks will face Blacks. Ladder: Vipers 19, Blacks 18, Laumas 16, Ducks 13, Dabaris 11, Isou 11, Bulldogs 7, Reds 7, Nagavas 7, Flames 4, Lagatois 2, Rigo Raiders 2.
