TWENTY-ONE Papua New Guineans will be able to broaden their knowledge and skills in sales, thanks to Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) PNG.
This will be made possible through the CCA Sales Academy launched on Friday in Port Moresby.
According to the company, the launch of the academy was in line with its efforts to building the capability of its sales force who were in the forefront of ensuring CCAPNG’s unrivalled beverage brands were at arm’s reach of its consumers.
Kadir Gunduz, regional managing director Coca Cola Amatil Indonesia and CCAPNG, told the participants that sales people were usually the face of any company.
Philippe Mondada, general manager CCAPNG, said: “This launch means a lot for us. Definitely in our approach in fulfilling our duties. We believe that we have to give back to the country (by) investing in building capabilities in our people for a sustainable tomorrow.”
The event was also attended by Finance and Rural Development Minister Rainbo Paita on behalf by Prime Minister James Marape.
CCAPNG head of people and culture Tim Solly told The National that the participants were sales and merchandise agents from Port Moresby.
“We classify it as the pilot programme,” he said.
“If this is successful, it will be rolled out in the whole business where we have about 240 people in sales and merchandise.”
CCAPNG invested close to K1 million in the programme.
“We consider people to be our biggest asset,” Solly said.
“The programme has three phases. The first phase is training for a few days.”
He said the second phase was on-the-job learning.
“Final phase is the assessment. So we actually assess them. And once they reach the pass mark, we’ll put them back to the start, we repeat the same process with a more advance material.”
