Salute for EHP icons

Letters

I SALUTE former Eastern Highlands Provincial Administrator Solomon Tato (my senior at high school) and incumbent Samson Akunai, the champion.
They are our icons, including all the past and present leaders of Eastern Highlands.
While you have used your god-given wisdom to lead this beautiful province, there is still much in your to-do list that you want to deal with.
Governor, I suggest you pick out and deliberate on the weaknesses and failures of acting provincial administrator Akunai and recommend him to the NEC again for permanent appointment.
Revert current acting PA Albert Wesley to his post in the education division because he is the best person to head the education division in the province.
In the recent past, Eastern Highlanders had been denied basic services because of the former governor’s mistrust and indifferences on issues like Goroka’s main market. After 10 months in office, we are experiencing something similar in nature from our current Governor Peter Numu.
The governor has made his views known to the province that he wants to see things straightened out.
Things he wanted to do included recouping State properties, and getting rid of inactive and problematic public servants.
He has something to offer and wants to bring change to Eastern Highlands.
Give him a chance to see what he can offer.
Numu, be assured that the majority is with you.
Forgive those trying to discredit your reputation.
Carry on doing what is right.
