Samarai-Murua MP commended

Letters

IT is my privilege to air the views of the principle landowners, landowners and communities living around the Jomard Passage.
I salute the Samarai-Murua MP Isi Henry Leonard for pushing forward with funding for this project.
According to The National (July 24), the mandatory piloting project has been receiving fees from passing vessels.
The MP also mentioned that the country could make K1 billion each year from the project, a boost for the national economy.
The landowners are calling on authorities to come down to the resource owners to discuss the planning, implementation and monitoring of the project and other developments and spin-off activities as we want to help to make this project a success and bring development to our people.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge Prime Minister James Marape and the NEC for the approval the Jomard Passage piloting project and marine conservation area.
