CHESHIRE Home residents filled up the air in Christmas cheers when Santa arrived to grant their wishes.
“Hopefully, we were able to give a bit of cheer to some of the people that live here,” said Tony Witham, a board member of Rotary Club.
Rotary Club was made aware by the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry that Cheshire Homes had put a Christmas wish list out and it came in to help him yesterday in Port Moresby.
“Rotary is all about giving back to the community, that’s why the club jumped at this opportunity,” said Witham
He said the Rotary Club thought the Christmas wish was a good idea and was able to get Santa deliver with the help of the Papua New Guinea Royal Constabulary.
Witham wished the residents a happy, prosperous and safe New Year while Santa went around calling the 18 residents by name and giving them their gifts.
Cheshire Homes administrative assistant Winnie Wamasimbie thanked Rotary Club on behalf of the Cheshire Homes board, management and residents for their kindness.
“We are very happy to have you here with us, your kindness to the residents means more not only to the residents but all of us here at Cheshire Homes as well,” Wamasimbie said.
