Saonu welcomes PM’s support

MOROBE Governor Ginson Saonu is pleased that Prime Minister James Marape is supporting the Evangelical Lutheran church’s plan to develop a Lutheran University.
Saonu said with the Government ready to back the church to establish a university, his administration was ready to start the groundwork to build it.
“The church leaders must get their act together to prepare the way for the Government to assist them to establish the institution,” he said.
“The Lutheran University proposal did get funding previously but work never commenced and now the Government is eager to assist us.
“We must get our house in order for Government to work with us.
“The challenge is for the Lutheran church to now get together to make the vision of a university run by it come into reality.”
Saonu said he would take the initiative to work with the church’s education branch to prepare a proposal to be presented to the Government on behalf of the people of Morobe and the church.
He said the Morobe government supported the establishment of the university which was fully incorporated under the Morobe education reforms in place that aimed to produce quality.
