Saroa Raiders run down Kwikila to retain netball title

Reigning champions Saroa Raiders ran down Kwikila to win 37-35 and retain the Sinaugoro netball title in Central over the weekend.
Kwikila led 19-16 in the first quarter.
Veteran shooter Mollie Navuru led her team in the final quarter with good service from young centre Loraine Mareva, who was fast on her feet and great in defence.
Sponsor Vikki Mosin congratulated the Raiders and presented them with a trophy, medals and K5000. Mosin said she was a firm believer in sports and the development of players.
“Netball is a sport that many girls and women in Central love to play but over the years, the code has begun to lose support and thrill,” she said. “We want to keep this sport alive, give it a boost and get more girls interested in it again.
“I thank everyone who has being a great support to this competition and also to my family who have always stood by me.”
