Savio haus celebrates feast of St Dominic

THE feast of Saint Dominic Savio was celebrated last Wednesday at the Savio Haus in Bomana, Port Moresby.
The feast day celebrates the patron saint of the Savio Haus community.
The day was celebrated with a mass conducted by Fr Dominic Kachira, rector of the community.
During the celebration, the community cooked and decorated the house.
They began with solemn vespers which was followed by dinner.
Savio Haus aspirants presented two items while Fr Edwardo Revilla sang two Spanish songs.
In the past, the Savio Haus community usually invited neighbouring religious communities to participate and celebrate.
However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, only three Salesian communities of Port Moresby were invited to join in the celebration. Don Bosco Technological Institute, Boroko Provincial House and Don Bosco Technical School, Gabutu. The feast day preparation and celebration was new for the aspirants.
