Scam in Boroko

Letters

ONE will see a gathering almost every day at Lahara Park in Boroko, Port Moresby.
In that gathering there will be someone talking and he or she will be falsely presenting himself or herself as a director or chairperson of an investment company.
Those in attendance will be told the company has networks in Israel and across Asia. The person then collects money from its members promising them that the money invested in Israel will bring back huge profits.
Members are asked to deposit K300 each into the person’s bank account to allow him or her to travel to Israel to sign agreements with some Israeli companies and then return with trillions of kina.
How can someone simply bring that huge sum of money into the country?
Let us stop this nonsense and move forward.
It’s better to live in reality than in our dreams.
