THE Institute of Business Studies University is conducting lectures in person and online while making sure its students and staff comply with Covid-19 protocols.
Responding to queries by The National yesterday, vice-chancellor Dr Ramachandran Arunachalam said lectures were being delivered through face-to-face teaching while maintaining social distancing in classrooms as well as on online learning tools such as Moodle, Blackboard, WhatsApp for video lessons, zoom conferencing and collaboration sessions.
“As per the advice of the pandemic controller, we are maintaining a 1.5-metre distance between students, hand sanitising and following every other protocols to ensure we prevent and protect against the spread of the Covid-19,” he said.
Dr Arunachalam said the university also had Koha library software on campus where students could access three educational websites anywhere in Port Moresby for research and study purposes.
He said all the students were required to strictly adhere to protocols of masking, hand sanitising, keeping a social distance in all school buildings such as classrooms, library, consultation rooms, counselling centre, health bay and canteen.
He said so far, there had been no serious cases of students being sick as yet, however, if they were sick, they would be required to stay home but could continue their studies via online portals.
