School celebrates culture

St Charles Lwanga Secondary School celebrated its third cultural show in Port Moresby on Friday.
A total of about 20 groups participated in the cultural show.
Under the theme “my culture, my pride and my identity”  the cultural groups from the different provinces promoted their culture through  traditional attires, singsing and traditional dances.
Principal Br Joseph Thomas said the event was the initiative of the students representative council as a fundraiser for the school.
He said he was proud of the effort and applauded their efforts.
The principal said the purpose of hosting the event every two years was for  students to learn their culture as well as maintain it.
Every young women and men must embrace their culture.
He thanked the students and the parents for their time and contributions.
“Without the students and their parents, this event would not have happened.
“Their contribution in participating in this event has made it a success,” he said.
