School ends National Book Week with activities

MALAKUNA Five Primary School in the Bitapaka local level government (LLG) of Kokopo, East New Britain, ended the National Book Week on a high note.
The school hosted a week-long programme to mark National Book Week which started last Monday and ended on Friday.
Students displayed their work for visitors to see which were drawings, paintings, poems, rhymes and story writing.
Students’ work was focused on the theme: “Upgrade your knowledge”. Malakuna Five Primary School is one of the oldest schools within the Bitapaka LLG, it was established in 1954.
Children from the Bitapaka area attended the book week celebration at Malakuna Primary School.
Local businesswoman Dame Sandra Lau donated two boxes of reading books to the school on Friday.
Dame Sandra, who is the managing director of Tropicana in Kokopo, visited the school and donated reading books and encouraged the students to read more.
