PRIMARY school inspectors in Morobe will be rating more than 400 reports of teachers, both personal and inspection, to be passed to the National Rating Conference in November, an official says.
Basic education senior school inspector Kwinda Trenian said however, that not all reports going through the provincial rating conference would be passed on.
He said the 205 personal reports and about 270 inspection reports needed to first meet the ratings and requirements.
He said an important requirement with new graduates who will be rated from today are qualifications.
“Any inspector presenting a new graduate’s report must also call out their qualification,” he said.
Mamose School Inspection Division regional director Samuel Natau, from the Education Department, was present at the mini rating conference for primary and elementary teachers.
“I’m here to monitor and ensure that these rating processes are adhered to give technical advice on the quality of report,” he said.
“At the national rating conference, we want to see error-free reports.
“For the reports to be accepted – they must be grammatically accurate and have relevant information expected to be assessed.
“From my observation, quality of reports are improving but, there’s still more areas to be improved.”
Programme adviser Keith Tangui commended all inspectors for their tireless efforts in ensuring the inspection process continued despite the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and other challenges.
