A PRIVATE Christian school in Port Moresby has opened a new building to house 12 classrooms helping for its increasing student numbers.
Zion Zeal Christian Academy’s new classroom building, which cost K1.5 million to build, includes ablution bocks for students and teachers.
Principal Jonathan Kapak said during the opening on Friday that the schools’ 9-Mile campus had 150 children from kindergarten to grade three.
“This new building will offer classes from grade three to grade six next year and we can cater for another 150 children bringing the total to 300.
“We are a private school so we don’t get funds from the national government.
“This building was met solely from the children’s school fees,” he said. Kapak said the academy had other chapters at Boroko, Gerehu and Waigani.
Kindergarten to grade six classes were offered in these chapters.
He said grades seven to 12 classes were at their Boroko chapter.
