School planning parent-teacher programme

Education

KOPKOPK College is organising a parent-meet-teacher dialogue at the college to establish mutual relationship between the parents and teachers.
The main course of this initiative is to engage parents in their child’s learning and to establish contacts with the teachers to bridge the gap between home-school and as well as conversation regarding assignments, homework or general school work.
The relationship dialogue between the parents and the teachers will also help to cut down on negative student behaviour.
According to Secondary School Principal Konio Pala, the meeting is a first of its kind for the school and is different from the normal parent teacher meeting.
“This is just a meet and greet for parents to be introduced to their child’s teacher,” said Pala.
“The purpose of this meeting is to establish contacts, build positive relationships and increase dialogue between teachers and parents early in the year” she added.
Pala said the school was accountable to the parents, specifically assuring to know who they were communicating with when correspondence were being sent home.
The parent-meet-teacher is an easier dialogue between home and school which will make it easy for parents and the school to follow up on any issues.
