Suspended University of Technology (Unitech) Vice-Chancellor Dr Albert Schram is expecting the Unitech Council to deliberate on his response today.
Dr Schram was suspended from his position on Jan 19 while he was asked to respond to allegations against him. The council is yet to convene a meeting to deliberate on his response presented on Jan 30.
A source said Dr Schram’s response included rebuttals to more than 18 allegations over issues regarding his credentials, travels and travelling expenses and the involvement of consultants from 2014-18.
The source also said that a request for an extension of his suspension has not been approved.
Dr Schram said that none of the allegations were based on facts or proper understanding of the procedures of the university.
“All allegations were easy to refute because they were based on hearsay and inaccurate information,” he said.
“Apparently, council members have not received a summary of allegations levelled against me, or my rebuttal.”
Dr Schram said that a council meeting was called for today but he was not asked to attend.
An attempt to get comment from council member and legal adviser Sam Koim was unsuccessful.
