Schram used as smokescreen, ex-judge says

 THE former University of Technology council and administration is using deported Vice-Chancellor Dr Albert Schram as a smokescreen to cover up for its wrongdoings, Commission of Inquiry chairman Justice Mark Sevua said.

He said the former council of Chancellor Phillip Stagg, Pro Chancellor and lawyer Ralph Saulep and Vice-Chancellor Dr Misty Baloiloi had a lot to answer for.

Sevua, whose Sevua Report into Unitech has not been released yet, said this on Friday after criticism of his team and current council headed by Chancellor Sir Nagora Bogan.

He said several very serious allegations were in the report and the onus was on the government to act on recommendations.

“The report covers everything: corruption, it’s all in here,” Sevua said.

“It’s unfortunate that the government has not decided to implement the recommendations.

“We’ve made the recommendations that should go to the police as well.
