THE second round of the National Capital District Darts competition swings into action this weekend at the Sports Inn with several big teams already showing grit to vie for the title.
Tokarara teams in Parani, NHC Hauslain and Straydog2 and 7Flats are looking to bring the silverware to Koura Way.
Gerehu will be led by Hamamas1 and Uni1 are also in contention.
Mark Kelep’s Iewa Sibou and Vemps are no easy beats and are leading Pool Blue despite Straydogs 2 edging out Vemps 5-4 last weekend.
Cornels Kauke’s Rabis Naduk team look set to dominate Pool Red until they got humbled by Kupandes 6-3 at the back of the bull check heroics of Nicholas Tuam.
Naduks will be looking for redemption this weekend while Kupandes are slowly showing signs of sharpness at the business end of the competition.
However, the real threat to the competition may come from newcomers NHC Hauslain who dismantled their Koura Way neighbours in Parani 8-1 last weekend.
It was Parani’s anchorman Garry Nasa who saved his side from a 9-0 whitewash by denying Hauslain captain Solomon Ori in the final singles match to stop the rot.
The previously unbeaten Parani were expecting a routine
afternoon until they were ambushed and stunned by their neighbours.
They will need to regroup and reassert themselves in Pool Blue.
Iewa Kikiu edged out Erima team Still Ok 5-4 and will be among the contenders in Pool Red.
