A MAGISTRATE has warned the second wife of a man to look after his children from the first wife, as she knew beforehand the situation she was getting herself into.
Magistrate Donald Joseph of the Mt Hagen District Court told Beverlyn Pena Morobe, that she agreed to marry Mark Pena knowing that he was already married to Wass Waima Pena and had two children with her.
“Morobe, you must look after Mark and his kids as well.
“You have no right to stop the kids (after) you marry their father,” he said.
Joseph dismissed the adultery case filed by Wass against Mark and Morobe, saying Mark wanted to marry both women.
He also urged Mark to look after his two wives and the children and to treat them fairly.
Wass in her summon said her husband and Morobe had been together since 2002 when she was away in Port Moresby with the children.
Joseph told her she should have filed the adultery case within six years (by 2008) as required by law.
It therefore had to be dismissed because it was filed late.
Joseph advised Wass that she could file to claim maintenance.
