Bishop Joseph Roszynski of the Catholic Diocese of Wewak says a young seminarian Micah Ramujuat will be ordained a deacon on Sunday.
On the same day, he added that the diocese would launch the pastoral programme for youths.
Giving a reflection of this month, Roszynksi said: “God is generous with his love and mercy and it is up to us to respond to His love and grace.
“In the month of February we are starting the academic year, we also start the time of Lent for this year.
“It is a new beginning we all have experiences of the past, we have regrets, we have hopes. This time it is a time of blessing.
“We are alive, we were given the chance to use our gifts, our resources, our wisdom for the best of us and for the others.
“The biggest of them all is the Love of God and time.
“Let us make the best of the chance given, to do better, to use time wiser, to use resources better, to grow in truthfulness and honesty.
“We are looking in Wewak to the visit of Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Kurian Mathew Vayalunkal who will come to inaugurate the academic year at the Divine Word University campus of Kaindi Teachers College tomorrow (Feb 23).”
