Sent Timbi will be missed

Letters, Normal

Without journalists, we would not know what is going on in PNG and other places in the world.
Journalists are the people who pass the message to everyone everywhere.
They are heroes, in my opinion.
The person who killed journalist Sent Timbi is not better than a common criminal.
On behalf of my family, my work mates and management of NBC Morobe, and my tribesmen Enga Wambulges in the Baiyer River district, I would like to convey my condolence to Sent’s immediate family members, friends, relatives and tribesmen during this time of sorrow.
I have known the late Sent for a while and we used to meet in many places like Port Moresby during the PNG Games last year, in Lae, Mt Hagen and mainly around the Highlands region.
He was smart, good-natured, simple, humble and hardworking.
There is one occasion which I will always remember fondly.
It was when I took him and other Mt Hagen-based journalists to my place during a new feeder road launching ceremony at Trola village by my local MP and Internal Security Minister Sani Rambi.
He will be sorely missed during the media gatherings, that is for sure.
May you rest in peace, Sent.
