PEOPLE of the Sepik Plains now have a K700,00 health centre in Yangoru-Saussia of East Sepik –thanks to its district development authority.
Speaking at the opening of the Witipe sub-health centre in East Yangoru LLG this week, MP Richard Maru said people were the most important asset of the area and equally important was their health. Maru said one of the district’s priorities was to have all basic services, including health, available to the rural population.
“Today was an historic day for me and the people of the Sepik Plains in East Yangoru LLG,”he said.
The facility includes two staff houses, complemented by an ambulance donated by the National Fisheries Authority.
“The health centre has two general wards for admission and observation, a maternity ward, antenatal MCH clinic room, procedure room, vaccine room, administration room and the general outpatient.
“Each ward and wing has its own toilet and shower,” Maru said.
