Serve crown with pride

Letters

THIS country is part of the Commonwealth nations which the governor-general represents the Queen of England.
The Queen’s crown is the symbol of power and authority.
No any other person wears the crown apart from Kings and Queens, not even the heir to the throne.
Being part of the commonwealth, we have to respect and honour the power and authority of the crown. Papua New Guinea is a sovereign nation and part of the Commonwealth.
Its symbol of being an independent nation is the emblem; the bird of paradise and it’s the pride of the nation.
It is very funny, interesting and also a great shame to see these two powerful symbols are undermined: The Queen’s crown and the bird of paradise.
Our country’s police force wear a blue uniform vested with the Queen’s crown and the country’s emblem.
The logo of the police is the combination of crown and the bird of paradise and also our police force is called the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary.
The name also signifies both the crown and the bird.
With the uniform the power and authority of the Queen and the nation is with them, but yet they undermine it in their unethical manners and behaviours.
With uniform or without realising the power and authority of the commonwealth and nation, they involve in some activities that does not glorify the Queen’s crown and the nation’s emblem.
Serve your Queen and your nation with pride.
