A SHOP owner at Hohola in Port Moresby is calling on policemen who he said raided his shop last week to return the properties they had taken.
Dr Steven Bogosia, a doctor at the Port Moresby General Hospital, claimed a group of policemen raided his store and took K9500 in cash and other valuables valued at K4750. He said a man received serious injuries and a woman received bruises and was unable to walk after being assaulted by the policemen.
Hohola police station commander Ben Trepi said he was waiting for the people affected to come forward and report the matter.
Trepi said he was aware of the situation but could not conduct investigations because the matter was never reported at Hohola police station.
It was alleged that more than 10 vehicles loaded with policemen, led by a Hohola-based police vehicle, stormed the area. They said they were looking for a suspect.
It was alleged that the police claimed they were selling liquor, which aided and supported crime at Burns Peak.
“I am speechless and dumb struck at the allegations levelled at my shop,” Bogosia said.
“I am waiting for the police to return my goods and money.”
