SHOPPING centres in Port Moresby are expecting a large number of customers in the remaining days before Christmas.
Stop & Shop Waigani Central manager Peter Dawson said as the biggest in the City Pharmacy Ltd chain of retail stores, the average it gets is between 7,000 and 7,500 shoppers daily.
“As the pay and bonuses and gift vouchers come in, the number will obviously increase,” he said.
“It will be massive to see the last day before Christmas.”
Stop & Shop and City Pharmacy shoppers are also entering the biggest win-eight cars promotion and others by spending K90 or more.
At Vision City, which gets around 25,000 visitors daily, Coca-Cola PNG Ltd is attracting numbers with five winners announced daily on its Christmas “Selfie with Santa” promotions.
Coca Cola marketing department casual officer Zora Kera said for every purchase of any three products of Coca-Cola Amatil PNG in any outlet at Vision City, winners can win gift hampers.
Coca-Cola Amatil PNG products include Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Schweppes, Bu, Solo, Nature’s Own, Golden Crush Cordial and Minute Maid Refresh.
“As long as it is on one receipt, you will go into the draw to win these prizes – Coke gift hampers and Vision City gift hampers.
“You will also take a photo with Santa Claus.
“The promotion is run through Dec 24, it started in late November. We have been doing five draws every day since.”
A winner yesterday, Jeremy Suang, said the gift included an umbrella, shirt, cap and cup.
Other shopping centres in the mall are also running their daily Christmas promotions.
