MORESBY North-West MP Sir Mekere Morauta has praised International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) South Pacific for demonstrating a positive approach to support their community partners.
The Motukea port, located in Moresby North-West, is a thriving port, connecting the world to the country.
In a courtesy brief to Sir Mekere, the ICTSI South Pacific chief executive, Anil Singh, highlighted improvements and achievements since Motukea international terminal started operations on June 18, 2018.
Though only 18-months into its operation in Papua New Guinea, the company has transformed the port services industry, by increasing productivity and reducing waiting time from four days to 18 hours.

  • That’s the result of Peter O’Neal’s hard fought decisions that is bringing improved performance from PNG Ports Ltd.

  • Correct! Previous Government under O’Neil which current PMJM was part of should be commended for such achievements.
O’Neil did quite a lot in terms of infrastructural developments targeting key critical infrastructures such as Roads, Wharfs & Jettys, Airports and Power projects within the shorter period he was in Government. Only problem was that he made some wrong investment decisions and created a huge debt which this government has now strategized to pay up.
