FORMER Papua New Guinea Hunters hooker Gahuna Sailas played a pivotal role to help Lako One grab a 22-14 victory over Erima Laumas in the Southern Nines at Bava Park yesterday.
Lako One were just too fast and smart for the Laumas.
Centre Mega Pali was in devastating form, with his speed and footwork troubling the Laumas.
The Laumas were a player short after Anthony Abavu was sent off for a dangerous tackle.
Lako One team manager Donald Wari said three-try hero Sailas was a vital cog in the side.
“We had to work on our speed and natural ability to beat an experienced side like the Laumas. But this is not over yet, as we have the cup quarterfinal ahead,” Wari said.
