Simbu’s next move

Letters

THE new Simbu provincial administrator was appointed by the National Executive Council (NEC) on merit from shortlisted candidates.
Michael Temai has worked for Simbu provincial administration in various capacities since graduating from the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG).
He just recently graduated with a MBA from UPNG and is qualified for this position.
The transition process should be smooth and, as he said, the only position that has changed is that of the provincial administrator’s.
All other positions within the rank and file of the Simbu administration remain the same.
This message is loud and clear and is good for Simbu.
Cars, computers and, especially, files and documents taken out of the office should be returned.
Temai has commended his predecessor and vows to continue the same work and take Simbu to new heights.
I appeal to the officers who have in their possession things that belong to Simbu to return them as soon as possible.
This will ensure the continuity of work and the flow of goods and services in the province.

New administrator Michael Bal Temai will surely continue from where the former provincial administrator left off to put Chimbu at the top as the best service delivery-performing province, according to the annual National Economical Fiscal Commission ratings.
Temai is the brain behind budgeting for activities implemented with the purpose of making monitoring and reporting easy.
Now is the time to increase the Chimbu public service competency, so everyone joining Temai should be competent, qualified with a degree as a minimum requirement, healthy and be able to contribute to continue to make Chimbu’s delivery of services one of the best in the country.
